The Home of Lässig is one of the most beautiful all-year sports-regions in Austria. In summer, the high mountains, wide valleys and lush alpine pastures are a must-see – why not on two wheels? In fact, the region Saalbach Hinterglemm is an absolute dream destination for cyclists, mountain bikers and e-bikers of all ages. It is not without reason that the currently most successful young rider comes from the region. Saalbach on the mountain bike – a real experience for children.
THE BASICS
How bike-experienced is your child? The MTB-holiday in Saalbach Hinterglemm starts best with an individual introduction in the bike camp or with an experienced bike instructor. Numerous bike rentals and bike schools in the region offer child-friendly courses that ensure complete safety on two wheels before setting off on the first trail. The focus is on the right riding experience – those who are not sitting and cycling safely should wait a little – as well as the appropriate safety equipment from helmet to protectors. Unfortunately, the Bike-Camp Saalbach 2020 is already completely booked out, information about next year’s edition will follow soon.
GUIDING FOR KIDS
Therefore, a course or, with appropriate experience, a tailor-made kids-guiding through the wide biking region lends itself. Of course, it is more fun in the group, and so the respective guide looks at the level of experience of all participants before going on the first trail. Depending on your mood, such guides can be booked over several days in order to venture on increasingly tricky routes and descents. There are no limits to your imagination!
THE BEST TRAILS FOR THE OFFSPRING
But where can Saalbach be particularly well experienced and enjoyed by children on their mountain bikes? Here are some trails that should not be missing in your vacation planning:
- For beginners: All beginnings don’t need to be difficult, at least not in the Home of Lässig. The Monti-Trail (former Milka Line) as well as the Blue Line are perfect for beginners, leading to first jumps and steep turns.
- For advanced learners: Once experience has been gained, the next challenge awaits. The rocky Pro Line on the Reiterkogel and the fast, undulating Z-Line on the Zwölferkogel are worth trying out!
- For young-pros: With proper practice and the right skills you might even be able to tackle the X-Line towards the end of your holiday. The long, demanding downhill run leads over meadows, stones, roots and woods. To compensate, the casual pump tracks are a good idea.
Saalbach Hinterglemm offers numerous opportunities for young guests to experience thrilling adventures on two wheels. The ascent with the summer cable cars is even free, because the JOKER CARD is already included in the holiday price of your HolidayFlats24 accommodation. Have fun in the summery Home of Lässig!
